The National Diploma in Dental Nursing examination will be in two parts, with the written paper and the practical known as the Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE).
Exam Fee: £510 (including both written and practical)
Written: 2 hours – 60 MCQ and 40 EMC
OSCEs: 11 stations (4 + 7 in workbook)
1st Part- Written Online exam.
2nd Part: OSCE : Verbal scenario-based stations on Zoom – approximately 40 minutes

Workbook element using the MaxExam app – approximately 1 hour
The unmanned element will be assessed using MaxExam and candidates will be required to complete a mandatory workbook practice session.

Exam entry policy:
Students must:
• Submit an Exam application form and fees by the deadline stated on the scheme of works
• Have attended a minimum of 80% of the sessions
• Pass the Mock 2 exam (65%Pass percentage)
• All homework set by the course tutor must be completed and handed to the tutor when requested.
We may withdraw an exam application based on any concerns that arise after submission. Part of the fees will be forfeited should this occur.
Re-sit & missed deadline Policy
If you fail the theory or the practical part of the exam you can renew your support to the next available written or practical examination. This renewal will also include revision lessons .
The renewal cost for re-sitting the NEBDN Theory examination is £550.00, this is made up of £200 NEBDN Exam Resit Fee plus £350 course renewal by Dental Premier.
If you had to re-sit the OSCE practical examination, the fee is £550.00, this is made up of £300 OSCE practical Exam Re-sit Fee plus £250 course renewal with Dental Premier. These fees include your examination fees , theory revision classes and mock OSCE practical revision exams prior to your OSCE Examination to assist you in preparation.
Note that a student who fails the written examination twice, will have to re enoll on the course in order to re sit the examination again.
Please note, candidates must pass both parts of the examination within the 3 year validity period of the Record of Experience.
Student who fail to meet the deadline for ROE application in order to complete the exam that they originally booked the course for or fail to submit their ROE by the required completion deadline or fail to hand in your examination application form by the deadline in order to sit the examination that you originally booked the course for, will need to pay course renewal fee of £600.
Students who successfully completed their Coursework (eRoE) can defer the exam and transfer to the following course by agreement with the Tutor and Course Director. This will be subject to a £250 charge in order to move the exam date. Once a student has applied for their ROE they are automatically assigned to the exam specified on the form, so any difference to this will incur the £250 charge. Please note that any extension fees to extend your course will be an additional cost to this.
